God Bless the Philippines “daw’
Just last night, the president apologized on national television to the Filipino citizens and admitted that she indeed made that call. Its in the front pages of all national and local papers, and even I hungrily read the news since there’s no television at our boardinghouse. It was the buzz in our school and it seemed like everyone was just so interested at the latest development of the "hello garci" controversy. A classmate of mine even made me answer a survey on whether I think the president’s apology was sincere. Well, I wasn’t able to see her on TV, so I did not see and hear how she delivered her apology. My classmates were divided into two, one group was not convinced that she was sincere. They said it seemed like a theatre play with a good script and bad acting. The other group insisted that GMA did a brave thing by admitting to the phone conversation and apologizing to the Filipino citizens on nationwide television. So where do ? stand? Well, for one, I do think that it was brave for her to do that. But the question is not her sincerity but did she really have a choice? If there was any other alternative, if there was a way for her to cover up the issue or if there was a way to make the people believe that the phone conversation was all fake, would she still admit to it and apologize? I don’t think so.
-President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, June 27, 2005 7:00pm on nationwide television-
rockin’ it for big “J”
Lately i’ve found myself so inlove with christian music, especially those sang by hill song. well, i love alternative music, and maybe that’s why i’ve connected easily with their songs. their songs have a touch of alternative to it, plus it takes you to a place where you just definitley connect to the song. it doesn’t feel like your listening tp "Alive, Alive" (not that i have anything against that song), but it feels like your listening to songs by alternative bands. and speaking of alternative bands, there are some who play christian music such as jars of clay, creed, counting crows, our very own KITCHIE NADAL! i think rockin it for Jesus does not mean that you have to be solemn, awkward, uncomfortable and yes in a way ashamed.. because as a matter of fact, these contemporary christian songs are anything but uncool! its a great way of praising God, and a much better alternative to music that talks about violence and sex. So okay, before i get too preachy here, i just wanna say that listening to this type of music is not something that i should be ashamed of. I’m doing it coz i love rockin it for Him!
One way! Jesus!
